Arrangements for lateral flow testing on Friday 3 and Monday 6 September 2021

We will have a phased return to allow for lateral flow testing of ALL students, ahead of their return, to ensure that students can return quickly we have decided to block test all students rather than over a protracted period of time.

On Friday 3 September, students will only attend college for a lateral flow test at their allocated time, collect their saliva testing kit and then return home - college uniform is not required.

On Monday 6 September,

  • Years 8-10 will only attend college for a lateral flow test at their allocated time and then return home, this is because we need staff available to conduct testing and will not be able to operate a full timetable for all years - college uniform is not required.
  • Years 7 and 11 will attend college for a lateral flow test at their allocated time and then remain in college for the day - students should be equipped and in college uniform.

We are pleased to share the news that The Henry Cort Community College is taking part in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID-19 Saliva Testing Programme next term.  This test is very simple and involves collecting a sample of saliva in a plastic pot. Free tests will be offered to all students and all staff.  Please refer to our website for details:

Students will receive a testing pack on Friday 3 September to use once they have completed 2 lateral flow tests within college, this will contain pots and a leaflet that shows how to collect a sample at home, to be dropped off in college.

We have arranged for buses to wait while the testing takes place, or to pick them up shortly afterwards, and take students home.  The timetable for all buses can be found on our travel to college page on our website and shows the route and times.  On arrival, students should enter the Sports Hall via the CPD doors.

Please refer to the email sent on Monday 23 August for your child's appointment time.

After students have been tested, all students will return to college on Tuesday 7 September.

Students will be expected to bring the salvia test sample with them on the following days and put into the big collection box as they enter the college site.

  • Daring and Triumph – Tuesday 7 September
  • Invincible and Victorious – Friday 10 September

Thank you in advance for your understanding and support to ensure we can do this.
