Curriculum overviews
Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad, balanced and ambitious education that builds knowledge, develops skills and prepares them for success both in school and beyond.
Each curriculum area has carefully planned learning journeys that enable students to build upon prior knowledge, deepen their understanding and develop the confidence to apply their learning in new and unfamiliar contexts. Our curriculum reflects our commitment to high standards, inclusion and the development of lifelong learners.
The curriculum overviews below provide parents, carers and students with an overview of the topics, knowledge and skills taught throughout the academic year. These documents are intended to support learning at home and help families understand what students are studying in each subject and year group.

National Curriculum
Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is informed by the requirements of the National Curriculum while also reflecting the values, aspirations and context of The Henry Cort Community College.
At Key Stage 4, students follow a range of GCSE and vocational qualifications that build upon the foundations established during Key Stage 3 and prepare them for their next stage of education, training or employment.
