College day
At The Henry Cort Community College, we believe that a structured and purposeful college day provides students with the best opportunity to learn, achieve and participate fully in college life.
Students are expected to arrive in good time and be ready for the start of Tutor Time at 8:25am. The formal college day finishes at 2:35pm, with a wide range of additional enrichment opportunities available after school.
Our compulsory attendance hours equate to 30 hours and 50 minutes per week.

Extra-Curricular Enrichment Activities and Revision Support Sessions
Beyond the Classroom
Learning at Henry Cort extends beyond the formal college day.
Our extensive programme of extra-curricular enrichment activities, revision sessions and support opportunities allows students to pursue their interests, develop new skills, strengthen their learning and build confidence. Whether through sport, performing arts, creative activities, academic support or leadership opportunities, there is something for every student to get involved in.
We strongly encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities as part of a rich and rewarding college experience.
Late Bus Service
To support participation in extra-curricular enrichment activities and after-college learning opportunities, a late bus service operates Monday to Thursday, departing the college at 3:50pm.
The service is available to eligible students with a valid bus pass.
Further information about routes and transport arrangements can be found on our Travelling to College page.
