My child has symptoms of COVID-19 what should I do? Visiting Henry Cort Other useful information
You must not send your child to college if they or anyone in their household has coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms; or has tested positive in the last 10 days; or if a member of the household has coronavirus symptoms and has yet to receive a negative (clear) test result. If your child becomes unwell with a new continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), you will be contacted to collect them and advised to follow ‘stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection’.  You will also be advised to access a PCR coronavirus test.

Twice weekly lateral flow testing testing for students

We are working hard to keep our college as safe as possible.  Twice weekly lateral flow testing is currently in place for students and staff.  Along with the other protective measures we are taking, these tests will help staff and students to safely remain in college. Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our college open as safely as possible. The test is voluntary, but we would encourage everyone to take it.

All test results must be reported to the college and to the NHS Track and Trace.  Reminders are sent twice weekly on a Sunday and Wednesday byTestRegister.co.yk and results should be submitted via the link on the email sent to the email address linked to each student.  These are individually linked to the student's account and cannot be shared.

STUDENTS ATTENDING COLLEGE

All students should bring their own ‘Covid kit’ containing a plain face mask (plus a spare) and sealable plastic bag for storage, tissues, hand sanitiser, lanyard and all equipment that they require for the day together with a full water bottle – water bottles should be named.

All students and staff have been wearing of face masks in buildings/classes since November, the latest government advise is that masks should be worn at all times indoors so this is something that will continue, including when travelling on the college buses.  Replacement masks and lanyards can be ordered via Scopay for £1.00 each.

VISITING HENRY CORT

To reduce direct transmission of the virus through unnecessary contact with external visitors, please be informed that we are no longer allowing access to Reception without an appointment.  Parents/carers are, therefore, being requested to remind their children to check their bags before leaving for college to ensure they have everything they need for the day.  In an emergency, items can be placed in the crate between the Reception double doors.  However, please note these will be collected and delivered to students once a day, before break.  If you have an appointment, please ensure you wear a face mask when entering reception, wash your hands and use the hand gel on arrival before signing in.  These measures are being put in place to protect both staff and students.

Thank you for your continued support.
