There are lots of vehicles and large coaches travelling on the college roadways at our peak arrival and departure times. The routes into and out of college have been planned to help reduce congestion and keep everyone safe. If you:

  • have a lift to and from college, keep yourself safe by obeying the ‘rules of the road’ and follow any signs. Always look to check for vehicles before crossing
  • walk to and from college, use the 'walk to college' route via the tennis courts
  • ride to and from college, use the 'ride to college' route via the tennis courts. Please dismount before you come into college and walk your bike to the bicycle shelter. When you leave college, please do not get on your bike until you have left the college site.  You must wear a cycle helmet, be using a roadworthy bike with working brakes and lights for the winter, and you must have a bike permit. Failure to do so may result in being refused entry with your bike. Bike permits can be requested using the following form: https://forms.office.com/r/M098RRQEEd External link Please note that scooters are not permitted.

Designated ride and walk to college routes: All students walking or riding to college will need to enter the college via the back gate, ensuring you arrive by 8:20am.  Once you come onto the college site, you must walk with your bike (do not ride through the site for yours and others safety).  It is important that if students need to cross Hillson Drive, you cross via Nashe Way.

TRAVELLING BY CAR

It is important that your parent/carer voluntarily follows the one-way system when leaving. To do this, please drive up Hillson Drive, turn into Wynton Way or Thorni Avenue and then down Fareham Park Road.  Cars should not turn into Henry Cort Drive.  Please make sure you are dropped off in Hillson Drive or use ‘park and stride’ drop off points.  These are located at Nashe Way, Highlands Road shopping car park, Oak Road and Deviation Line car park, as shown in the map overleaf.

By using the recommended ‘park and stride’ drop off points, you will help to:

  • create a safer environment for students making their journey to and from college
  • reduce congestion around the college entrance
  • help reduce pollution to the local area
  • improve health and wellbeing by encouraging an increase in your daily step count
