What is Design and Technology
The National Curriculum defines the subject as the following -
“ Design and Technology capability requires pupils to combine their designing and making skills with knowledge and understanding, in order to design and make a product.”
Department aims
- To give all students confidence and competence to solve problems
- To encourage students to make judgements about their own work and that of others
- To encourage respect for their own work and that from different cultures
- To develop students social and organisational skills
Who teaches Design and Technology
The Department is led by Mr Styles (Electronic Products). He is joined by Mr Sam-Brew (Graphics / Product Design), Mrs Baldry (Textiles Technology), Ms Waugh (Food Technology) and Mrs Whiitingham (Textiles / Graphics).
The Department also has two full time technicians.
