Community

The Henry Cort Community College has been a supported community school since 1985. Following Football Federation funding of the 2004 changing room building and pitch drainage we contribute to the Fareham Borough football plan and report to the Football Foundation. In September 2003 we became a Specialist Sports College and seek to support provision in this area for many participants in the local community maximising the use of our 32 acre site.
We continue to develop our community work in all areas of education, recreation and leisure. We are supportive of other local agencies and voluntary organisations in order to help create a vibrant learning community where provision is shared amongst the partners. Our audit of activity in the area has highlighted the wide range of services offered by the family of schools. In addition we have an extensive programme of lettings to achieve a balanced and diverse range of activity which supports the needs of the local community. Local groups such as Catisfield dance and drama group, Fareham Music Society, and Fareham and Gosport Youth Orchestra use our facilities to enrich the lives of the community. We host the Fareham Schools Sports partnership which works across five secondary schools and thirty four primaries. This work includes the employment of a Competition Manager to increase intra and inter school matches and festivals. The partnership works with a range of partners at all levels of education.
